Located in South West England, Wiltshire borders the counties of Berkshire, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Somerset. Salisbury Plain is one of the county’s most famous landmarks – home to Stonehenge and Avebury stone circles.
This is also the main UK training area for the British Army. The city of Salisbury has a mediaeval cathedral and among a number of distinguished country houses open to the public are Longleat and Stourhead. With attractive towns and villages, Wiltshire also has a thriving local economy including national and international companies such as Alcatel-Lucent, Honda and Intel.
Manufacturing sectors include beverages, electrical apparatus and equipment, food products, furniture, pharmaceuticals, plastic goods and rubber.
