Suffolk in East Anglia has the North Sea to the east, and is surrounded by Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex. Ipswich is the county town and other important settlements include Felixstowe, which is one of the largest container ports in Europe.
The land here is flat and arable and there are wetlands, the Broads, to the north. Crops grown include cereals and vegetables and every May there is a major agricultural show at Trinity Park near Ipswich. Well-known local companies include Huntley & Palmers (biscuits), Branston Pickle, Birds Eye (meat and frozen vegetables) and Greene King (brewery). Newmarket is the home of the UK horse racing industry.
