Staffordshire in the West Midlands is a landlocked county surrounded by Cheshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire. It has part of the National Forest within its boundaries and its largest city is Stoke-on-Trent. Several companies who operate nationally and internationally are based in Staffordshire, including The Britannia Building Society and JCB (equipment manufacturers).
Alton Towers, the most visited theme park in the UK, is in the Staffordshire Moorlands and some of the largest pottery manufacturers in the world are based in Stoke-on-Trent. The county has good links with road networks and is especially popular with commuters who work in Birmingham.
