Noted for its connection to the legendary Robin Hood, Nottinghamshire is in the East Midlands area. The city of Nottingham was closely involved with textiles in the past, especially lace making, and its transport links are good.
The M1 runs north to south through part of the county in the west, and the A1 north to south on the eastern side. Rail links are also good.
Many major companies have set up in the area, so jobs may be found in financial services, IT, retail, the legal industry, pharmaceuticals and engineering. With two universities, the county has many opportunities in the education sector.
